Then the king of Assyria exiled Israel to Assyria and put them in Halah and in Habor by the River of Gozan and in the cities of the Medes,


because they did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed His covenant and all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, and would not obey or do them.


to turn aside the needy from justice and to take away the right from the poor of My people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!


those who cause a man to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and turn aside the righteous with meaningless arguments.


Behold, therefore, I have struck My hand toward your dishonest gain which you have made, and toward your blood which has been in your midst.


They have cast lots for My people, and have traded a boy for a prostitute; they have sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.


You have sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks in order to remove them far from their border.


The ones who buy them then slaughter them and have no guilt, and those who sell them say, “Blessed is the Lord because I am rich.” Their own shepherds do not take pity on them.
