During the night he divided his men to attack them and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus.


Then they struck the men that were at the door of the house, both small and great, with blindness so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.


The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who made the mute, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?


Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is against you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell on him, and he went about seeking someone to lead him by the hand.


Since I was blinded by the glory of that light, those who were with me led me by the hand into Damascus.


Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he could see again. And he rose up and was baptized.


For three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.


In Damascus the governor under King Aretas secured the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me.


nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me. But I went into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
