They told him, “Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt.” And Jacob’s heart stood still because he could not believe them.


Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the chamber into the house and returned him to his mother, and Elijah said, “See, your son lives!”


So Elisha said, “Pick it up.” And he reached out his hand and took it.


The blessing of the perishing man came upon me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.


The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked He turns upside down.


So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.

Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusts in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
