In those days, when Moses was grown, he went out to his brothers and looked on their burdens; and he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.


He looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.


“When he was forty years old, it came to his heart to visit his brothers, the Israelites.


He supposed that his brothers would understand that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand.


Will you kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’
