Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”


“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. At the feet of Gamaliel I was trained in the strict tradition of the law of the fathers, being zealous toward God as you all are today.


I persecuted this Way to the death, arresting and imprisoning both men and women,


“I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ “He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’


“We have found this man a troublemaker, instigating riots among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.


“Now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.


Then Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”


Saul, still breathing out threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,


For I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.”


For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.


concerning zeal, persecuting the church; and concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.


I was previously a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and an insolent man. But I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
