My enemies reproach me all the day; those who deride me use my name for a curse.


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same fate comes to all people. Moreover, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live; after that they go to the place of the dead.


But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.


“But take heed. For they will hand you over to councils, and in the synagogues you will be beaten. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.


Truly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they speak.


“When he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have an abundance of bread, and here I am perishing with hunger!


“But before all these things, they will seize you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.


But they were filled with madness and discussed with each other what they might do to Jesus.


But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, blaspheming and contradicting what Paul was saying.
