the captain of fifty and the honorable man, the counselor and the skillful artisan, and the eloquent orator.


On an appointed day, Herod, dressed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave a public speech to them.


When the seven days were nearly concluded, the Jews from Asia saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,


The high priest Ananias ordered those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.


And provide mounts so Paul may ride and take him safely to Felix the governor.”


When it was revealed to me that there was a plot against the man, at once I sent him to you and ordered the accusers to state before you their charges against him. Farewell.


When they arrived in Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul also to him.


he said, “I will hear you when your accusers also arrive.” And he ordered that he be guarded in Herod’s Praetorium.


You may verify that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship.


When he was summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “Since through you we enjoy much peace, and your foresight is bringing reforms to this nation,


When I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me about him, asking for a sentence against him.


The high priest and the elders of the Jews spoke to him against Paul. And they begged him,


Brothers, when I came to you, I did not come with superiority of speech or wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.


My speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
