Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the earth, and from Your face will I be hidden; and I will be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.”


The king said to him, “How many times must I admonish you to tell me only the truth in the name of the Lord?”


Let his children wander continuously and beg; let them seek their bread far from their desolate homes.


And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they shall be your judges.


But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”


and cried out with a loud voice, “What have You to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure You by God, do not torment me.”


John answered Him, “Teacher, we saw one who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him, because he was not following us.”


Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.


John answered, “Master, we saw a man casting out demons in Your name and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us.”


There were seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva doing this.


For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might submit to it readily enough.


At that time Joshua made them swear, “Cursed before the Lord will be the man who arises and rebuilds this city of Jericho. He will establish it at the cost of his firstborn and erect its gates at the cost of his youngest child.”


Now Israel’s fighting men were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under a curse, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food before it is evening, and I have been avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted any food.
