Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you at the very center of the house of Israel. The country cannot endure all his words.


And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.


But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.”


In those days Peter stood up among the disciples (the number of people together was about one hundred and twenty), and said,


The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.

But the Jews who did not believe became jealous and, taking some evil men from the marketplace, gathered a crowd, stirred up the city, and attacked the house of Jason, trying to bring them out to the mob.


“We have found this man a troublemaker, instigating riots among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.


But we think it is proper to hear from you what you think. For concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.”
