23 For as I passed by and looked up at your objects of worship, I found an altar with this inscription: to the unknown god. Therefore, whom you worship as unknown, Him I proclaim to you.

He has not dealt so with any nation; and as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise the Lord!


These things have you done, and I kept silent; you thought that I was indeed like you; but I will rebuke you and make a case before your eyes.


For Jacob My servant’s sake and Israel My chosen one, I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me.


In vain they do worship Me, teaching as instructions from the precepts of men.’ ”


“O righteous Father, the world has not known You, but I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me.


This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.


You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.


Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing. It is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God.


God overlooked the times of ignorance, but now He commands all men everywhere to repent.


And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper.


For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.


For there are those who are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, as there are many gods and many lords.


were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world.


who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as God.


Now to the eternal, immortal, invisible King, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever. Amen.


And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true —His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
