One evening when David arose from his bed and was walking on the roof of the king’s house, from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful.


Evening and morning and at noon will I reflect and groan, and He will hear my voice.


And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be defiled as the place of Topheth, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.


And the Chaldeans who fight against this city will come and set this city on fire and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke Me to anger.


Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house. And his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he knelt on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.


and those who bow down on the roofs to the host of heaven; those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord and yet swear by Milcom;


Again he went out about the sixth hour and the ninth hour and did likewise.


Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.


Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.


But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.


In the morning, rising up a great while before sunrise, He went out and departed to a solitary place. And there He prayed.


When He had sent them away, He departed to a mountain to pray.


About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius.”


But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”


Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.


Therefore I desire that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath or contentiousness.
