Then he brought him to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, He said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter).


and called and asked whether Simon, who was named Peter, was lodging there.


Therefore send to Joppa for Simon, whose name is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. When he comes, he will speak to you.’


After much disputing, Peter rose up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that some time ago God decided among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.


During the night a vision appeared to Paul: A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”


In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and almsgiving.


Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, pleading, “Do not delay to come to us.”


It became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.


He remained in Joppa for many days with Simon, a tanner.
