11 They said, “Men of Galilee, why stand looking toward heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you to heaven, will come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

For the Son of Man shall come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will repay every man according to his works.


Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”


“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.


“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.


“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.


But again, he denied it. A little while later, those who stood by said again to Peter, “Surely, you are one of them. For you are a Galilean, and your speech confirms it.”


After the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.


Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.


As they were afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?


And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also.


until the day when He was taken up, after He had given commandments through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen,


beginning from the baptism of John until the very day that He was taken up from us, one of these men must become with us a witness of His resurrection.”


When He had spoken these things, while they looked, He was taken up. And a cloud removed Him from their sight.


and for many days He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people.


They were all amazed and marveled, saying to each other, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?


When Peter saw it, he answered the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Or why do you stare at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?


whom the heavens must receive until the time of restoring what God spoke through all His holy prophets since the world began.


and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead —Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.


For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.


so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to save those who eagerly wait for Him.


Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
