You said to your servants, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you will not see my face again.’


We said, ‘We cannot go down. If our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down, for we may not see the man’s face, unless our youngest brother is with us.’


So Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf saying, “To whom does the land belong? Make your covenant with me, and behold, my hand will be with you to bring over all of Israel to you.”


Now as the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal the daughter of Saul was looking down from the window, and when she saw King David dancing and spinning, she despised him in her heart.
