However, the king’s word prevailed against Joab and the commanders of the army. So Joab and the commanders of the army went out from before the king to register the people of Israel.


May the Lord give you increase, you and your children.


In the multitude of people is the glory of a king, but in the lack of subjects is the ruin of a prince.


Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and rejoice because the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.


May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times more numerous and bless you, just as He has promised you!
