When Joab blew the horn, the people returned from pursuing Israel, for Joab held back the people.


Then they took Absalom, disposed of him in a large pit in the forest, and piled over him a very large heap of stones. Then all Israel fled, everyone to his home.


So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still. They pursued Israel no longer, nor did they continue to fight anymore.


There happened to be a worthless man there whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. He sounded the trumpet and said, “We have no share in David, nor do we have an inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel.”


a wise woman called from the city, “Listen! Listen! Say to Joab, ‘Come closer so that I may speak with you.’ ”


Wisdom gives the wise person more strength than ten rulers who are in the city.


Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of people is fully set to do evil.
