Now Joab the son of Zeruiah recognized that the king’s mind was on Absalom.


It was told to Joab, “Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom.”


So the people entered the city by stealth that day, as a people who have been disgraced steal away when they flee from battle.


In the light of the king’s countenance is life, and his favor is like a cloud of a spring rain.


The wrath of a king is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
