They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.


the king said to Nathan the prophet, “I am dwelling in a cedar house, but the ark of God is sitting in a tent.”


I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”


For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.


Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells.


For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.


“In Your mercy You have led the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them by Your strength to Your holy dwelling.


Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’


Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You, and that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too that this nation is Your people.”


Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?”


Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and say to them: The Lord will roar from on high, and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He will mightily roar against His fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.


Do not trust in lying words, saying, “The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.”
