11 Then she said, “May the king remember the Lord your God so that the avenger of blood will not continue to destroy, lest they exterminate my son.” He said, “As the Lord lives, not one hair of your son will fall to the ground.”

If you mistreat my daughters, or if you take other wives beside my daughters, although no one else is with us, remember that God is witness between you and me.”


The king said, “Whoever speaks to you, bring him to me, and he will not cause you harm again.”


Then the woman said, “Allow your servant to speak a word to my lord the king.” So he said, “Speak.”


Then the king said to Joab, “Behold now, I grant this; go, bring back the young man Absalom.”


And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs will fall to the ground, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.”


You shall swear, “As the Lord lives,” in truth, in justice, and in righteousness; then the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him they shall glory.


The avenger of blood himself will slay the murderer. When he meets him, he will slay him.


or in hatred struck him with his hand, so he died, he that struck him shall surely be put to death, because he is a murderer. The avenger of blood will slay the murderer when he meets him.


and the avenger of blood finds him outside the borders of the city of his refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he will not be guilty of blood,


But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.


So I urge you to eat. This is for your preservation, for not a hair shall fall from your head.”


The people said to Saul, “Will Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? God forbid. As the Lord lives, there will not one hair of his head fall to the ground. For he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.


Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, since the two of us swore in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘The Lord will be between me and you, and between my descendants and your descendants forever.’ ” So he arose and departed, but Jonathan went into the city.


Saul swore to her by the Lord, saying, “As the Lord lives, no punishment will happen to you for this thing.”
