And I turned my heart to know and seek and search out wisdom in the scheme of things and to know the wickedness of folly, and that foolishness is madness.


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same fate comes to all people. Moreover, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live; after that they go to the place of the dead.


The days of punishment have come; the days of recompense have come. Israel knows! The prophet is a fool; the man of the spirit is insane, because of your great iniquity and great hatred.


So if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will commit to your trust the true riches?


I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme. And being extremely enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
