When he came to Ophel, he took them from their hand and put them away in the house. Then he sent the men away, and they departed.


Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right today. This is a day of good news. If we are silent and wait until the morning light, we will be found guilty. Let us go now and enter the city and tell the king’s household.”


Your tackle hangs loose; it cannot hold the base of its mast securely, nor spread out the sail. Then the prey of an abundant spoil shall be divided; the lame shall take the prey.


But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, “Do not slay us, for we have stores in the field, of wheat and barley, and of oil and honey.” So he refrained and did not slay them among their brothers.


“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid. And with joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.


But he who had received one went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.


When I saw among the plundered goods a beautiful robe from Babylon, two hundred shekels of silver, and a gold bar weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them, so I took them. They are hidden in the ground in my tent. The silver is underneath them.”
