He said to him, “Did my heart not go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to take money, and to take garments, olives and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?


She said to her mistress, “If only my lord were before the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would take away his leprosy from him.”


But when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent word to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come to me, and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.”


The mind of the king of Aram was troubled by this, so he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not tell me who among us sides with the king of Israel?”


He said, “Go and see where he is, so that I may send for him and take him.” And it was told to him, “Behold, he is in Dothan.”


And the river will swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedchamber, and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs.


No wisdom or understanding or counsel can stand against the Lord.


Do not curse the king, even in your mind; do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; for a bird of the air will carry your voice, and a winged creature will declare the matter.


Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from the Lord and whose works are done in the dark, and they say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”


Take counsel together, but it shall come to nothing; speak the word, but it shall not stand for God is with us.


The king answered Daniel and said, “Truly your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”


Surely the Lord God does nothing without revealing His purpose to His servants the prophets.
