Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives before whom I stand, there will not be dew or rain these years except by my word.”


Elijah said, “As the Lord of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”


Elisha said, “As the Lord of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not for my regard for Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you or see you.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.


“All things are lawful to me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.


I am ready to come to you this third time. And I will not be burdensome to you, for I do not seek what is yours but only you. For the children ought not to save up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
