For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods, and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God as the heart of David his father had been.


Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done.


He walked in all the sins of his father that he had done before him, and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God as the heart of his father David had been.


Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, though he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.


Jehoash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all his days because Jehoiada the priest instructed him.


He was twenty-five years old when he became king and reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddan from Jerusalem.


But he did not remove the high places. Still the people sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to everything that David his father had done.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the ways of David his father. He did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.


After the death of Jehoiada the officials of Judah came and paid homage to the king. At that time the king listened to them.


Joash did what was correct in the eyes of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.


O  Lord, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to You from the remote parts of the earth, and will say: Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things in which there is no profit.
