Moreover, in my devotion to the house of my God I have offered from my own property, gold and silver, which I give for the house of my God, over and above that which I prepared for the holy dwelling place:


Trust not in oppression; put no vain hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.


Set your affection on things above, not on things on earth.


Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys were found.” But the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel had spoken, he did not mention.


And now behold the king whom you have chosen and for whom you have asked! Behold, the Lord has set a king over you.


But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then will the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.


About the time of her death the women that stood by her said to her, “Do not fear, for you have borne a son.” But she did not answer or regard it.


But the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel. And they said, “No! But surely a king will be over us!


They said to him, “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now, install for us a king to govern us like all the nations.”


Samuel answered Saul, and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you will eat with me today. And tomorrow I will let you go, and will tell you then all that is in your heart.


Now the donkeys of Kish, the father of Saul, were lost. And Kish said to his son Saul, “Take now one of the servants with you, and arise, go find the donkeys.”
