But they did not listen. Manasseh led them to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.


“But My people would not listen to My voice; Israel would not submit to Me.


So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to walk in their own counsels.


I also will choose their punishments and will bring their fears on them, because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen; but they did evil before My eyes and chose that in which I did not delight.


“As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you.


And now, because you have done all these works, says the Lord, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer,


They come to you as people come, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they will not do them. They do the lustful desires in their mouth, and their heart goes after their covetousness.
