Now it happened after this that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them, so he took Gath and its neighboring towns from Philistine control.


They did not destroy the peoples, as the Lord had commanded them,


The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negev, and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and by the edge of the Jordan.”
