Then Achish would say, “Where have you made a raid today?” And David would say, “Against the Negev of Judah,” or “Against the Negev of the Jerahmeelites,” or “Against the Negev of the Kenites.”


And Achish believed David, saying, “He has surely become a stench to his people Israel. Therefore he will be my servant forever.”


They had taken as captives all the women who were there. They did not kill anyone, but carried them off and went on their way.
