David answered Rekab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, “As the Lord, who has delivered my life from every distress, lives,


my lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and He in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.


I love You, O  Lord, my strength.


With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with the blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;


He delivers me from my enemies. You exalt me above those who rise up against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.


He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken.


For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.


Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.


For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged. And with the measure you use, it will be measured again for you.


strengthening the minds of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the faith, to go through many afflictions and thus enter the kingdom of God.


And pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, for not all men have faith.
