Moses said to Aaron, “Take a pot and put an omer full of manna in it, and place it before the Lord, to be kept for generations to come.”


Then the Israelites returned from chasing after the Philistines and they plundered their tents.


When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the commander of the army, “Whose son is this youth, Abner?” And Abner said, “As your soul lives, O king, I do not know.”


So when David returned from slaying the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the Philistine’s head in his hand.


The priest said, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you struck down in the Valley of Elah, behold, it is here, wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you will take that, take it, for there is none here except that one.” And David said, “There is none like it. Give it to me.”
