Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of the harvest until the rains poured on them from heaven. She did not allow the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the animals of the field by night.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor comes humility.


I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life; and their dead bodies shall be food to the fowl of heaven and to the beasts of the earth.


Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;


Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, “I am a god; I sit in the seat of gods in the midst of the seas,” yet you are a man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God.


And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice to all the birds flying in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather for the supper of the great God,


The men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer, and said, “Come up to us, and we will teach you something.” So Jonathan said to his armor bearer, “Come up after me, for the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel.”


This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand. And I will strike you down and cut off your head. Then I will give the corpses of the Philistine camp this day to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
