Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, “Do you come in peace?” And he said, “I come peaceably.”


Then the Spirit came upon Amasai the captain of the officers, and he said, “We are for you, David, and with you, son of Jesse. Peace, peace to you, and peace to the one helping you, for your God helps you.” So David welcomed them and appointed them as captains of the troops.


Now when the days of feasting had run their course, Job sent and sanctified them. He would rise up early in the morning, and he would offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all, because Job said: “It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job would do always.


The Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothes,


Gather the people, consecrate the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and those nursing at the breast; let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.
