They journeyed from Bethel, and when they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel went into labor, and she had a difficult labor.


As for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to get to Ephrath, and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).”


Thus says the Lord: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.


Zelah, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath—fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin according to their clans.
