A fool’s anger is shown at once, but a prudent man ignores an insult.


He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates the best of friends.


He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.


If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.


Love suffers long and is kind; love envies not; love flaunts not itself and is not puffed up,


And above all these things, embrace love, which is the bond of perfection.


And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all men, even as we do for you.


We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers, as it is fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you abounds toward each other.


Now the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.


But above all things, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” be “No,” that you do not fall into condemnation.


let him know that he who converts the sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.


Since your souls have been purified by obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto a genuine brotherly love, love one another deeply with a pure heart,


Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, even as your soul is well.
