“Behold, I know your thoughts, and the schemes with which you would wrong me.


All Your commandments are faithful; they persecute me wrongfully; help me!


Let not my treacherous enemies rejoice over me, nor let those who hate me without cause wink the eye.


But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; and those who wrongfully hate me are many.


Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head; they are mighty who would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully; what I did not steal, I must now restore.


“For if you love those who love you, what thanks do you receive? For even sinners love those who love them.


But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.


When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and exhorted them all to remain with the Lord with a loyal heart.


So it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience.


But by the grace of God I am what I am. And His grace toward me was not in vain. I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.


For our rejoicing is this: The testimony of our conscience is that we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you, in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God.


Moreover, brothers, we want you to experience the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia,


For these things I suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him until that Day.


Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshippers, once purified, would no longer be conscious of sins?


For what credit is it if when you are being beaten for your sins you patiently endure? But if when doing good and suffering for it, you patiently endure, this is favorable before God.


Let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or even as a busybody.
