The hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.


Then he said to Gehazi, “Prepare yourself, take my staff in your hand, and go. If you find anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not answer him, and lay my staff on the face of the boy.”


Prepare yourself like a man; for I will question you, and you shall answer Me.


“Prepare yourself now like a man; I will question you, and you will answer Me.


In this way shall you eat it: with your waist girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.


Righteousness shall be the belt of his loins, and faithfulness the belt about his waist.


You therefore gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them.


and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went.


“Let your waist be girded and your lights be burning,


“So will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.


Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare my supper, and dress yourself and serve me until I eat and drink. And afterward you will eat and drink’?


Let us behave properly, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in immorality and wickedness, not in strife and envy.


The eager expectation of the creation waits for the appearance of the sons of God.


so that you are not lacking in any gift while waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.


So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love.


Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,


When Christ who is our life shall appear, then you also shall appear with Him in glory.


and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,


But be self-controlled in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and prove your ministry.


From now on a crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.


Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which will be greatly rewarded.


But Christ is faithful over God’s house as a Son, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm to the end.


We have this hope as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, which enters the inner sanctuary behind the veil.


so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to save those who eagerly wait for Him.


Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that should come to you have inquired and searched diligently,


But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to every man who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and fear.


The end of all things is near. Therefore be solemn and sober so you can pray.


With the help of Silas, whom I consider to be a faithful brother to you, I have written briefly, exhorting you and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.


Be sober and watchful, because your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.


Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
