5 So know that I plan to build a house to honor the name of the Lord my God, just as the Lord spoke to my father David, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne after you, shall build a house to honor My name.’

Nevertheless, you shall not build the house, but your son who will come out of your loins, he shall build the house for My name.’


“Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: ‘Submit to me; come out to me, so that every man may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cistern,


He is the one who will build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.


He will be the one to build a house for My name. He shall be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’


See now that the Lord chose you to build the house for His sanctuary. Be strong and do it.”


For He said to me, ‘Solomon your son is the one who shall build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father.


Therefore you shall do My statutes, and keep My decrees, and do them, and you shall dwell securely in the land.


The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill and live securely in it.


Then each man will sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one will make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken.


“On that day, says the Lord of Hosts, each of you will invite your companion to come and sit under the vine and under the fig tree.”


Israel dwells in safety; the fountain of Jacob will be secluded in a land of grain and new wine; its heavens will rain down dew.


All the Israelites from Dan to Beer-sheba, and also from the land of Gilead, went out and gathered together in an assembly as one man before the Lord at Mizpah.
