It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this.


All Israel heard of the king’s judgment, and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to execute sound judgment.


Give Your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and bad, for who is able to judge among so great a people?”


Then God responded to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart and you did not ask for possessions, wealth, and honor, or even the life of those who hate you, nor have you asked for many days of life, but you have asked Me for wisdom and knowledge that you might govern My people over whom I have made you king,


There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, let the light of Your countenance shine upon us.


The silvery hair is a crown of glory; it is found in the way of righteousness.


And are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For behold, I will bring disaster upon all flesh, says the Lord, but I will give you your life as spoils of war in every place, wherever you go.”


Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
