and took the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it you. Yet you have not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart to do only that which was right in My eyes,


He walked in all the sins of his father that he had done before him, and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God as the heart of his father David had been.


Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, though he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.


“If you will walk before Me, as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, so that you are obedient to do all that I have commanded you, and will keep My statutes and My judgments,


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the ways of David his father. He did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.


And he did what was correct in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked in the ways of David his father and did not turn either to the right or left.


I have not departed from Your judgments, for You have taught me.


Then I shall not be ashamed, when I look upon all Your commandments.


Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgressions.


They were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly.
