Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”


He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live.”


Face to face I speak with him clearly, and not in riddles, and the likeness of the Lord will he behold. Then why were you not afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?”


No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who at the Father’s side, has made Him known.


So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love.


Now to the eternal, immortal, invisible King, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever. Amen.


He alone has immortality, living in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen, nor can see. To Him be honor and everlasting power. Amen.


By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king. He endured by looking to Him who is invisible.


But whoever keeps His word truly has the love of God perfected in him. By this we know we are in Him.


Now the one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He remains in us, through the Spirit whom He has given us.


And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.


If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar. For whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?


We are of God, and whoever knows God listens to us. Whoever is not of God does not listen to us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
