Let us behave properly, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in immorality and wickedness, not in strife and envy.


Now I ask you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak in agreement and that there be no divisions among you. But be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.


For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.


First of all, when you come together as the church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.


For while one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not worldly?


For I fear that when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish. I fear there are debates, envying, wrath, strife, backbiting, whispering, arrogance, and disorder.


But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed by one another.


We also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various desires and pleasures, living in evil and envy, filled with hatred and hating each other.


For where there is envying and strife, there is confusion and every evil work.


so that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh serving human desires, but the will of God.
