And he was .xxx. yere olde when he stode before Pharao kyng of Egypte. And than Ioseph departed from Pharao, & went thorow out al the lande of Egypte.


Dauid was thyrtye yeare olde when he began to raygne, and he raygned fourty yeare.


Their brethren the Leuites were apoynted vnto all maner seruyce of the tabernacle of the house of God.


And to the pryestes that were rekened in the housholdes of their fathers from twentye yeare and aboue, to wayte when theyr courses came.


In the seconde yeare of their commynge vnto the house of God at Ierusalem in the seconde moneth, beganne Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel, and Iesua the sonne of Iosedec, & the remnaunt of their brethren the pryestes and Leuites, and al they that were come oute of the captyuyte vnto Ierusalem, & appoynted the Leuites from twentye yeare old, and aboue, to se, that the worcke of the house of the Lorde went forwarde.


from .xx. yere and aboue euen all that are able to go forth into warre in Israel, thou and Aaron shall numbre them in theyr armies,


But thou shalte appoynt the Leuites vnto the habitation of witnesse, and to all the apparell thereof and vnto all that longeth therto. For they shal bear the tabernacle and al the ordinaunce therof, and they shall minister it, and shall pytche theyr tentes rounde about it.


Semeth it but a smal thinge vnto you, that the God of Israel hath seperated you from the multitude of Israel to brynge you to hym, to do the seruyce of the dwellynge place of the Lorde, and to stande before the people to minister vnto theim?


and bad them take the summe of the chyldren of Cahath from among the sonnes of Leui, in their kynredes and houses of their fathers,

Thys shalbe the offyce of the chyldren of Kahath in the tabernacle of wytnesse whiche is moost holy.

Thys commaundement committe I vnto the sonne Timotheus, accordyng to the Prophesyes whiche in tyme paste were Prophesyed of the that thou in them shouldest fyght a good fyghte


Thys is a true saiyng. If a man couete the offyce of a byshop, he desyreth a good worke.


He maye not be a yong scholer, lest he swell and fall into the iudgement of the euyll speaker.
