Abram was verye ryche in cattell, syluer, & golde.


Lot also which went with him, had shepe, cattell, and tentes:


And Lea conceaued & bare a sonne, & called eys name Ruben, for she sayd: the Lorde hath loked vpon my tribulation. And nowe my husband wyll loue me.


They said moreouer vnto Pharao: for to sogeorne in the lande are we come, for thy seruauntes haue no pasture for their shepe so sore is the fameshment in the land of Canaan. Now therfore let thy seruauntes dwell in the lande of Gosan.


and they passed ouer Iordan and pytched in Aroer on the ryght syde of the cytye that lyeth in the myddes of the valeye of Gad, and so forthe to Iazer.


And then they went to Galaad, and to the nether lande of Hosedi, and from thence to Dan Iaan, and aboute to Sidon,


And these now a fore wrytten by name went in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iuda, and smote the tentes of them & the habitacions that were founde there, and destroyed them vtterlye vnto this daye, & there dwelt in theyr rowmes: because there was pasture there for theyr shepe.


And moch comon people went also with them, and shepe, & oxen, & catell exceadyng moch.


For thus hath the Lord spoken vpon the kynges house of Iuda: Thou art the head as Galaad is in Libanus. What wylt thou saye of it, yf I make the not so waste (& thy cyties also) that no man shall dwell therin?


So wil I mourne for the also, O Iazer, and for the, O thou vyneyarde of Sabamah. Thy wyne braunches shall come ouer the sea, & the braunches of Iazer but vnto the sea: the destroyer shal breake into thy haruest and grape gatheringe:


and wil bringe Israel agayne to hys pleasaunte pasture, that he maye fede vpon Charmel and Basan, and be satisfyed vpon the mounte of Ephraim & Galaad.


for there is no more Tryacle at Galaad, & there is no Physycyen, that can heale the hurte of my people.


Therfore fede thy people wyth thy rodde, the flocke of thyne herytage which dwell desolate in the woodde, that they maye be fedde vpon the mounte of Charmell, Basan & Galaad as afore tyme.


And Moses sente to searche oute Iaezer, and they toke the townes belongynge therto and conquered the Amorites that were there.


they came and spake vnto Moses and Eleazar the preast and vnto the Lordes of the congregacion sayinge.


Our children our wyues substance and all oure catell shall remayne here in the cyties of Galaad.


The land of Ataroth & Dibo and Iazer, and Nemrah & Hesbon & Elealeh and Sabam & Nebo and Beon,


He sawe hys begynninge, that a parte of the teacher was hydde there and came with the handes of the people, and executed the ryghtuousnes of the Lord and his iudgmentes wyth Israell.


And their coastes were Iazer, & all the cities of Galaad, and halfe the land of the chyldren of Ammon, vnto Aroer that lyeth before Rabah:


And the children of Israell sent vnto the chyldren of Ruben, to the chyldren of Gad, and to the halfe trybe of Manasses into the lande of Galaad, Phinehes, the sonne of Eleazar the prieste,


And the chyldren of Ruben, the chyldren of Gad, and halfe the trybe of Manasses, returned and departed from the chyldren of Israel out of Syloh, which is in the lande of Canaan, to go vnto the countreye of Galaad, and to the lande of their possessyon, wherin they were possessed at the mouth of the Lorde by the hande of Moses.


For all that is in the world (as the luste of the fleshe, the lust of the eyes, and the pryde of goodes) is not of the father, but of the world.


Wherfore abodest thou amonge the shepe foldes, to heare the bleatynges of the flockes. In the deuysions of Ruben, greate were the ymaginacions of herte.
