After these dedes, the worde of God, came vnto Abram in a vision sayinge: Feare not Abram, I am thy shyld, and thy rewarde shall be exceadynge greate.


And when the sunne was downe, ther fell a slumbre vpon Abram. And loo, feare and greate darckenes came vpon him.


Then he sayde: I sawe all Israell scattered vpon the hylles, as shepe that haue no shepardes. And the Lorde sayde: those haue no mayster, let them returne, euery man to hys house in peace.


Thou spakest sometyme in visions vnto thy saynctes, and saydest: I haue layed helpe vpon one that is mighty, I haue exalted one chosen out of the people.


was lyke a raynbowe, which in a raynye daye appeareth in the cloudes. Euen so was the symylitude, wherin the glory of the Lorde appeared. When I sawe it, I fel vpon my face, and herkened vnto the voyce of him that spake.


And he sayed heare my wordes If there be a prophet of the Lordes among you, I wyl shewe my selfe vnto him in a visyon & wyll speake vnto hym in a dreame.


And God came vnto Balam by nyghte and sayd vnto hym: If the men come to fette the ryse vp & go wyth them: but what I say vnto the, that onely thou shalt do.


And the Lord opened the eyes of Balam that he sawe the angel of the Lord standyng in the waye, wyth hys swerd drawen in hys hande. And he bowed him selfe & fel flatt on hys face.


And he began hys Parable and sayed: Balam the sonne of Beor hath sayed, & the man that hath his eyes open hath said,


Howe goodlye are the tentes of Iacob & thyne habitation Israel,


Then wexed he an houngred, and woulde haue eaten. But whyle they made ready, he fell into a traunce,


While Peter thoughte on thys vision, the spyryte sayed vnto hym: Beholde men seke the,


And it fortuned when I was come agayn to Ierusalem, and prayde in the temple that I was in a traunce,


I was in the spirite on a sondaye, and hearde behynde me a great voyce, as it had bene of a trompe,


And when I sawe hym, I fell at hys fete, euen as dead. And he layde hys ryght hande vpon me, saiynge vnto me: feare not, I am the fyrste, and the laste,


And he stripte of hys clothes and prophesyed before Samuel in like maner, & fell naked all the day & all the night wherfore it is a comen sayinge, is Saul also amonge the prophetes?
