And then Ioab delyuered vp the rekenynge of the nombre of the people vnto the Kynge. And there were found in Israel nyne hundred thousande men of might that drewe swerdes. And the men of Iuda were fyue hundred thousande men.


The sonnes of Ruben of Gad and of halfe the trybe of Manasseh, euen of fyghtynge men able to beare shylde and swerde, & shott with bowe, and taught to make warre, were foure and fourtye thousande seuen hundred & threskore that went out to battell.


And Amaziah gathered Iuda to gether & made capitaynes ouer thousandes and ouer hundredes in the houses of theyr fathers thorowout all Iuda and Beniamin. And he numbred them from twentye yere & aboue, & founde them thre hundred thousande lustie men able to go to battell, and that coulde handle speare and shylde.


And se that ye kepe you to vnleuended bread. For vpon that same day I wyl brynge your armyes out of the lande of Egypte, therfore ye shal obserue thys day and al your children after you, that it be a custome for euer.


And all that are numbred of them that are .xx. yere olde and aboue shall geue an heueofferynge vnto the Lorde.


Euery man offrynge halfe a sycle after the weyght of the holy sycle among them that went to be nombred from .xx. yere olde & aboue, among .vi. hundred thousande and .iij. thousande and .v. hundred and .l. men.


Your carkesses shal lye in thys wyldernesse, nether shal any of these nombres whych were nombred from .xx. yere & aboue of you which haue murmured agaynste me


take the numbre of all the multitude of the chyldren of Israell frome .xx. yeare & aboue thorow out theyr fathers houses all that are able to go to warre in Israell.


Numbre the chyldren of Leuye in the houses of theyr fathers & kinredes, al that are males from a moneth old & aboue.


None of the men that came out of Egypte from twenty yere olde and aboue, shal se the lande whych I sware vnto Abraham, Isaac and Iacob, because they haue not contynually folowed me:


These are the iourneyes of the children of Israell which went out of the land of Egypte wt theyr armies vnder Moses and Aaron.

When a man taketh a newe wife, he shal not go a warrefare nether shalbe charged wt any busynesse: but shalbe fre at home one yere & reioyse with hys wyfe which he hath taken.


And I commaunded you the same tyme (yea Ruben & Gad) saying: the Lord youre God hath geuen you thys land to enioye it: se that ye go harnessed before youre brethren the children of Israel, all that are men of warre among you.
