And Nahor when he was .xxix. yere old, begat Terah,


And when Terah was .lxx. yere old, he begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.


And these are the generations of Terah. Terah begatte Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran begat Lot.


Laban was gone to shere his shepe, & Rahel had stolen hir fathers images.


And now thoughe thou wentest away, bicause thou longest after thi fathers house, yet wherfore hast thou stolen my Goddes.


But with whomesoeuer thou findest thy Gods, let hym dye here before our brethren. Seke that thyne is by me, & take it to the: for Iacob wist not that Rahel had stolen them.


The God of Abraham, the God of Nahor, & the God of their fathers be Iudge betwyxt vs. And Iacob sware by him that his father Isaac feared.


And they gaue vnto Iacob all the straunge Gods whych were vnder theyr handes, & al theyr earynges which were in theyr eares, & Iacob hid them vnder an oke at Sichem.


Consydre Abraham youre father, & Sara that bare you: how that I called him alone prospered hym well, & encreased him:


& saye: Thus sayth the Lorde God vnto Ierusalem: Thy progeny & kinred came oute of the lande of Canaan, thy father was an Amoryte, thy mother a Cethyte.


which was the sonne of Iacob, which was the sonne of Isaac, which was the sonne of Abraham, which was the sonne of Tharra, which was the sonne of Nachor,


And thou shalt answere and saye before the Lord thy God: The Syrians wolde haue destroied my father, and he went doune into Egypte and soiourned there with a fewe folcke and grewe there vnto a nacyon greate, mightie and ful of people.


But yf it seme euyll vnto you to serue the Lorde, then chose you thys day whom you wyll serue whether the Goddes whiche youre fathers serued that were on the other syde of the floude, eyther the Goddes of the Amorytes in whose lande, ye dwelte, and I & my house wyll serue the Lorde.
