An ydle hand maketh pore, but a quicke laboryng hand maketh ryche.


The slogarde woulde fayne haue, and can not get his dsyre: but the soule of the diligente shall haue plenty.


The way of the slouthful is ful of thornes, but the strete of the rightuous is wel cleansed.


Whatsoeuer thou takest in hande to do, that do wyth all thy power: for among the dead, wher as thou goest vnto, ther is nether worcke, councel, knowledge ner wysdome.


In that tyme it shall be sayed to Ierusalem: feare not, and to Syon: let not thyne handes be slacke,


And he went out about the eleuenth houre, and founde other standynge ydel, and sayde vnto theim: Why stande ye here all the day ydell?


Laboure not for the meate which perysheth, but for the meate that endureth vnto euerlasting lyfe, which meate the sonne of man shall geue vnto you. For hym hath God the father sealed.


Be strong and bolde: for vnto thys people shalt thou deuyde the land which I sware vnto theyr fathers to geue them.


When Iosua was waxen olde, & strycken in yeres, the Lorde sayde vnto hym, thou art olde, and stricken in yeres,


But there remayned among the chyldren of Israel seuen tribes, which had not their enheritaunce deuyded oute.


Bring of euery tribe .iij. men, that I maye sende them. And that they may ryse & walke thorowe the land & distribute it by their enheritaunces, & come agayne to me.


And they said: vp and let vs go vnto them, for we haue sene the lande, that it is verye good. Haste therfore and be not slouthfull to departe, and to go & conquere the land.
