1 These are the Kynges of the land whyche the chyldren of Israell smote and conquered their landes, on the other syde Iordan eastwarde, from the ryuer Arnon, vnto mounte Hermon, and all the plaine eastwarde:

Gaber the sonne of Vry had the contreye of Galaad and the lande of Sehon kynge of the Amorytes & of Og kyng of Basan, and was alone receyuer in the lande.


Like the dewe of Hermon, which fell vpon the hil of Sion. For there the Lorde promysed hys blesyng, and lyfe for euermoe.


And gaue awaye their lande for an herytage, for his mercy endureth for euer.


Thou hast made the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon shal reioyse in thy name


(For as for the doughters of Moab, they were as it had bene a trembling byrd, that is put oute of her nest, by the fery of Arnon) whiche messaunger sayde:


And they departed thence and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which ryuer is in the wyldernesse, and cometh out of the costes of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, betwen Moab & the Amorites.


And Israell sent messengers vnto Sehon, kyng of the Amorites sayinge:


And Israel smote hym wt the edge of the swerde & conquered his Land, from Arnon vnto Iabock: euen vnto the children of Ammon For the borders of the chyldren of Ammon, are strong.


For we wyll not enheret wyth them on yonder side Iordan forwarde, because oure enheritaunce is falled to vs on thys syde Iordan eastwarde.


We wyl go harnessed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, and the possessyon of our enheritaunce shalbe on thys syde Iordan.


And Moses gaue vnto the chyldren of Gad and of Ruben and vnto halfe the trybe of Manasse the sonne of Ioseph, the kyngdome of Sehon kynge of the Amorites, and the kyngdome of Og kynge of Bason, the lande that longed vnto the cyties therof in the costes of the countre rounde aboute.


Ryse vp, take youre iourney and go ouer the ryuer Arnon. Behold, I haue geuen into thy hande Sehon the Amorite kynge of Hesbon, & his land. Go to and conquere and prouoke hym to battell.


Then both Sehon and al hys people came out agaynst vs vnto battel at Iahaza.


Then we turned & went vp the way to Basan. And Og the kynge of Basan came out agaynst vs: both he and all his people to battell at Edrai.


This is the law which Moses set before the chyldren of Israell,


on the other side Iordan in the valey besyde Beth Pheor in the land of Sehon kyng of the Amorytes whiche dwelt at Hesbon, whom Moses & the children of Israell smote after they were come out of Egypt


from Aroer vpon the bancke of the ryuer Arnon, vnto the mount Sion which is called Hermon


vntyll the Lorde haue geuen your brethren reast, as he hath you, and vntyll they also haue obtayned, the lande which the Lord youre God geueth them. And then retourne vnto the lande of youre possessyon and enioy it, which lande Moses the Lordes seruaunte gaue you on thys syde Iordan towarde the sunne rysynge.


euen from mounte Halak that goeth vp to Seyr, vnto Baal, Gad, in the valeye of Libanon, vnder mounte Hermon. And al the kinges of the same, he toke & smote them, and slewe them.


and vnto the Cananites both by Easte and weste: and vnto the Amorites, Hethites, Pheresites, and Iebusites in the mountaines, and vnto the Heuites vnder Hermon in the land of Mazphah,


For the other halfe wyth the Rubenytes, and the Gaddites haue receyued their enheritaunce allready, whiche Moses gaue them beyonde Iordan Eastwarde, euen as Moses the seruaunt of the Lorde gaue them,


And now the Lord hath geuen reste vnto youre brethren as he promised them. Wherfore returne and go vnto youre tentes & vnto the lande of youre possessyon, whych Moses the seruaunt of the Lord gaue you on the other syde Iordan.


And then they wente a longe thorowe the wildernesse, and compased the lande of Edom, & the lande of Moab, and came a longe by the eastsyde of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other syde the riuer of Arnon, and came not wythin the coastes of the Moabites: for Arnon was their vtmost border.
