Kynges wyth their armyes shall fle, and they of the housholde shall deuyde the spoile


If so be that ye lye amonge the pales, the doues fethers shalbe couered with syluer, & her wynges of the colour of golde.


Though they were buryed in the hell, my hande shall fetch them from thence: though they clymme vp to heauen, yet shall I cast them downe:


They shal licke the dust lyke a serpente, & as the wormes of the earthe that tremble in theyr holes. They shalbe afraid of the Lorde oure God, and they shall feare the.


And Iosua returned, and all Israell wyth hym, vnto the hoste to Galgall,


And it was tolde Iosua, saying, the fyue Kynges are founde hyd in a caue at Makeda.


Then the .v. kynges of the Amorites the kyng of Ierusalem, the kinge of Hebron, the kynge of Ierimoth, the kinge of Lachys, the kyng of Eglon, gathered them selues together, both they and all their hostes & wente vp and beseged Gabaon, and made warre agaynst it.


And the kynges of the earth, & the greate men and the ryche men, and the chiefe captaines, and the myghty men, and euerye bonde man, and euery free man, hyd them selues in dennes, and in rockes:


And when the hand of the Madianites was sore vpon Israel, the children of Israel made them dennes in the mountaynes & caues & strong holdes.


And when the men of Israel sawe them selues in a strayte, and that the people were accombred, they hyd themselues in caues, in preuy holes, in rockes dennes & pyttes.


And he came to the flockes of shepe by a wayes side, where was a caue. And Saul went in to couer his feete. And Dauid and his men sat a longe by the sides of the caue.


Dauid arose and went out of the caue, and cryed after Saul sayinge: My Lorde Kinge. And Saul loked behinde hym. And Dauid stouped to the earth and bowed him selfe,
