And Abner the sonne of Ner & the seruauntes of Isboseth the sonne of Saul went out of Mahanaim, to Gabaon.


And Hezekiah saide: it is a lyght thynge for the shadowe to go doune ten degrees. Therfore I will not that: but let the shadowe go backewarde ten degrees.


And Isaiah the Prophete called to the Lorde, and he brought the shadowe ten degrees backewarde, by whyche it had gone doune, in the dyal of Ahaz.


And Isaiah saide: this sygne shalt thou haue of the Lorde, that the Lorde wil do that he hath spoken: shal the shadowe go forwarde ten degrees, or go backe agayne ten degrees?


and Barah and Sama, whyche were auncyent heades amonge the enhabiters of Aialon, and they draue out awaye the enhabiters of Geth.


Yarah Aialon & Hebron. Which were the stronge cytyes of Iuda and Beniamin.


He commaundeth the Sonne, and it ryseth not she closeth vp the starres, as it were vnder a sygnet.


Prayse hym Sunne and Moone, prayse hym all ye starres and light.


Their sounde is gone oute into all landes, and their wordes into the endes of the worlde.


The daye is thyne, and the nyght is thine thou hast prepared the lightes and the sunne.


For the Lorde shall steppe forthe as he dyd vpon the mounte Perazim, and shall take on as he dyd vpon the dale of Gabaon: that he maye bryng forthe his deuyce his straunge deuyce: and fulfyll hys worcke, hys wonderful worcke.


Beholde, I will returne the shadowe of Ahaz dial, that now is layed out wyth the Sunne & brynge it ten degrees backe warde. So the Sunne turned ten degree backward, the which he was descended a fore.


Thy Sunne shall neuer go doune, & thy Mone shal not be taken awaye, for the Lorde him selfe shalbe thy euerlastynge light, & thy sorowfull dayes shalbe rewarded the.


And thys was done in the same yeare: euen in the begynnynge of the raygne of Zedekiah kynge of Iuda. Bvt in the fourthe yeare of the raygne of Zedekiah kyng of Iuda, in the fyfth moneth, It happened, that Hananiah the sonne of Assur the Prophet of Gabaon, spake to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priestes & of al the people, & sayd.


Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, that was as hye as the Cedre trees, and as stronge as the okes: notwithstandynge I destroied his frute from aboue, and his rote from vnder.


At the same tyme (sayeth the Lorde God) I shall cause the Sunne to go downe at none, and the land to be darcke in the cleare daye.


But the Lord in his holy temple is he, whome all the world shuld feare.


The sunne and mone remayned. styll in theyr habitacyon. Thyne arowes went out glysterynge, and thy speares as the shyne of the lyghtenyng.


Let all fleshe be styll before the Lorde, for he is rysen oute of hys holy place.


so that they haue gone & serued straung Gods and worshypped them, whether it be the sunne or mone or any thing contayned in heauen which I forbade,


Yea, & least thou lyfte vp thyne eye vnto heauen, & when thou seist the sunne and the mone and the starres and whatsoeuer is contained in heauen, shouldest be deceyued and shouldest bowe thy selfe to them and serue the thynges whych the Lord thy God hathe distributed vnto all nations that are vnder al quarters of heauen.


And the sonne abode, and the mone stode styll, vntyll the people had aduenged them selues vpon their enemyes. Is not thys written in the boke of the ryghtwes, howe that the sunne abode in the middes of heauen, and hasted not to go doune by the space of a whole daye.

and was buried in Aialon, in the countreye of Zabulon.


From heauen came battell: for the sterres beynge in theyr course, fought agaynst Sisara.


And when Samuel called vnto the Lorde, the Lorde sent thunder & rayne the same daye. And all the people feared the Lord and Samuel excedynglye.


And they layed on the Philistines that daye, from Machmas to Aialon. And the people were excedynge fayntye.
